It was a busy couple of days for the Base UK team at eCommerce Expo 2026 at ExCeL London — full of conversations, live demos, familiar faces, new opportunities and a little friendly competition on the putting green.
And after the first day of the Expo, we had another reason to celebrate: Base received a Silver award for Best eCommerce Platform at the eCommerce Awards 2026.
It was our first nomination at the eCommerce Awards and our first award, making this a particularly special week for the team.
Right at the heart of eCommerce Expo
This year you could find Base at stand D10, right near the entrance to the show.
With our large Base sign hanging above the stand, we were hard to miss — and from early on the first morning, the stand was busy.
Our full UK team was there across both days, and there was a constant mix of conversations taking place. The first morning was particularly strong, with plenty of retailers and brands stopping by to find out more, alongside several really promising conversations with businesses that fit the type of companies we work best with.
One of the things we enjoyed most was the variety.
We spoke with businesses across fashion, auto parts, textiles, home and garden and several other areas of eCommerce, from established retailers to companies growing incredibly quickly through newer channels.

Taking the conversations into live demos
Rather than just talking about what Base can do, we wanted visitors to be able to see it.
Members of our implementation team joined us at the Expo, which meant we could move from an initial conversation straight into a live demonstration when someone wanted to explore Base in more detail.
That worked really well.
Visitors were able to talk through their current setup, ask specific questions and then see relevant parts of the platform working in practice.
A lot of the conversations naturally came back to reducing manual work and making increasingly complicated eCommerce operations easier to manage.
We heard examples around manual order processing, managing listings across different channels and the amount of day-to-day work involved when different parts of an operation aren’t connected.
There was also plenty of interest in automation and AI, particularly where they can remove repetitive work from processes such as listings and help teams manage larger volumes without simply adding more manual tasks.
What was encouraging was that many people weren’t coming to us with one isolated problem. They wanted to understand the bigger picture and how Base could support more of their operation as they grow.
See some of the action from eCommerce Expo
We captured some of the stand, the team and the atmosphere across the two days.
Putting skills to the test
We also wanted something at the stand that was simply good fun.
Our putting challenge definitely delivered on that.
It became a popular part of the stand across the two days, with plenty of people stopping to have a go — and even a few queues forming when competition started to heat up.
It gave us a chance to have more relaxed conversations with visitors, take some photos and hand out prizes to our winners.
Catching up with Base customers
Another highlight was seeing some of our existing customers at the show.
Several stopped by D10 during the two days to say hello and catch up with the team.
Events are naturally a great opportunity to meet new businesses, but getting to see customers already using Base was just as valuable.
It’s always good to hear directly from the people using the platform day to day, and it made for some of our favourite conversations of the Expo.
From ExCeL to the eCommerce Awards
After a very busy first day at the Expo, the Base team headed across London for the eCommerce Awards 2026.
We had a full Base table at the ceremony, and this was our first time attending the eCommerce Awards.
It was already exciting to have Base nominated for Best eCommerce Platform at our first awards ceremony.
Coming away with a Silver award made the evening even better.
Base is now an award-winning eCommerce platform
Receiving the award for Best eCommerce Platform is something we’re incredibly proud of.
Base has been developing eCommerce technology for around 20 years, but our presence in the UK is much newer. Over the past few years, we’ve continued to build the UK team, work with more retailers and brands and establish Base within the UK eCommerce market.
To receive industry recognition at our first eCommerce Awards nomination feels like an important moment in that journey.
And after two days spent speaking with businesses at eCommerce Expo about the realities of running and scaling their operations, it was a pretty good way to finish the first evening.
Base is now an award-winning eCommerce platform — and we’re only getting started in the UK.

“Receiving a Silver award for Best eCommerce Platform at our first eCommerce Awards is a fantastic achievement for the whole Base team. We’ve made significant progress in the UK over the past few years, growing our team, our customer base and our presence in the market. It was great to spend two days meeting retailers and brands at eCommerce Expo and then receive this recognition alongside the team.” Kevin Steward, Head of Country UK
Thank you, eCommerce Expo
A big thank you to everyone who came to see us at D10.
Whether you joined us for a demo, challenged us to a round of putting, came over for a catch-up or spoke with us about where your eCommerce business is heading next, it was great to meet you.
The team has plenty of conversations to follow up on over the coming weeks, and we’re looking forward to seeing where some of them lead.
And, of course, we’ll be finding a good home for our first eCommerce Award.
Missed us at the Expo?
If you didn’t get a chance to visit the Base stand and would like to see how Base could support your eCommerce operation, book a demo with our team and we’ll show you around the platform.
