What an incredible day! On 23rd October 2025, we hosted our first-ever Base Meet Up, Scale Up at RSA House in London, bringing together sellers, marketplaces, and partners from across the UK eCommerce ecosystem for a full day of learning, strategy, and inspiration.

To everyone who joined us — thank you for making it such a special day.

The morning kicked off with an insightful discussion on how Temu is redefining global eCommerce and creating new opportunities for UK sellers.

The final panel brought together two long-standing eCommerce innovators: Base and eBay.

Mark shared eBay’s evolving mission to empower sellers through trust, visibility, and innovation — from AI-powered listing tools to global reach across 134 million buyers.
He highlighted how eBay continues to support sellers of all sizes with accessible tools, seller-first policies, and a renewed focus on sustainability and customer confidence.

Kevin and Pete discussed how Base complements this mission by giving sellers the tools to simplify operations, integrate seamlessly, and thrive on multiple channels.

“Our partnership with eBay has always been built on the same foundation — helping sellers grow confidently, with simplicity and transparency at every step.”

Key takeaway: Innovation is important — but trust and consistency are what drive long-term success.

🏉 Afternoon Keynote: Sir Clive Woodward on Thinking Correctly Under Pressure (TCUP)

The afternoon session saw a true highlight — a captivating keynote from Sir Clive Woodward, England’s Rugby World Cup-winning coach and a globally recognised leadership strategist.

Sir Clive shared his principle of TCUP — “Thinking Correctly Under Pressure.”
He explored how high-performing teams succeed not by chance, but by developing the mindset and habits to stay calm, think clearly, and execute effectively under stress.

His stories from the pitch offered valuable parallels for the business world: the importance of preparation, decision-making under pressure, and creating a culture that thrives when challenges arise.

“Winners aren’t born in big moments — they’re built in the small ones. TCUP is about staying composed, making smart decisions, and trusting your preparation.”

It was an inspiring and energising close to a day already full of insight and innovation.
