Google Shopping – account configuration

You can integrate the Base.com system with your Google Shopping account, which will allow you to list products from your store in bulk with just a few clicks.

Google Shopping is Google’s advertising system that allows you to display product ads tailored to the phrase you select. This program works in a similar way to Google Ads text ads or Google banners.

When a user types in a search phrase, a box appears in Google’s search engine containing information about products related to the phrase.

Each listing includes:

  • a picture of the product
  • the name with a direct link to the product card in the store
  • the price
  • delivery information
  • the name of the store
  • a link to the Google account with all products listed on the account. When a user clicks on a particular ad, they are immediately taken to the product card in the store, where he or she can place an order. Of course, orders from the store can be downloaded by the seller to the Base.com system and handled with the Order Manager.

The module allows:

  • listing offers based on products from the store’s warehouse connected to the Base.com system. It is not possible to list products from another warehouse, because there must be a link to the product card in the store next to the product.
  • synchronization of the stocks of the offer, and more precisely – sending information about the availability of a given product (in stock / out of stock)
  • synchronization of the price in the offer according to the price of the related product in the warehouse – taking into account the price multiplier,
  • automatic renewal of offers

How to connect a Google Shopping account

To connect an account, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you have a Google Merchant Center account set up
  2. Go to the Integrations section.
  3. Click the green ‘+Add Integration’ button, in the ‘Marketplace’ section select ‘Google Shopping’ and then “Sign in with Google” button.
  4. Select the Gmail account associated with your Google Merchant Center profile and grant Base.com
  5. Done permissions. A new account will automatically be added to the system.

You can connect multiple accounts to the Base.com system. This does not affect the subscription rate 🙂

Integration Settings

When you add a new account, you will see 4 tabs:

  • Connection – here you can test if the connection is correct.
  • Listing settings – here you can select a category for the entire marketplace account, set the price multiplier and complete the general listing settings. You can also enable the option ‘Automatically resume listings for the next period’ – then Base.com will re-list the given listings after 30 days.
  • Prices – the price synchronization module will allow you to automatically synchronize the prices on auctions according to the prices of products in the warehouse.
  • Stock – the stock synchronization module will allow you to automatically send information about product availability (in stock / out of stock).

Google module

On the left side of the Base.com panel you can see the Google module. Here you will find 5 tabs:

  • Listing creator – here you can list offers. To access the listing form, select your warehouse, marketplace account and products and click ‘List Selected (form)’.
  • Listing management – here you can manage existing listings. You can also import listings listed outside the Base.com system (and handle them directly in the panel), as well as export listings for further analysis.
  • Categories and parameters – in this tab you will select categories and map parameters.
  • Offer templates – in this tab you will create and edit Google listing templates
  • Associations – here you will assign marketplace categories to categories (or products) from the warehouse.

Configuration

To list offers literally in a few clicks, configure the Google module by following these steps:

  1. Connect a Google account under Integrations → Add New Integration.
  2. Select your favorite categories in Google → Categories and Parameters → Google Categories. This will make your favorite categories visible as a drop-down selection list when listing.
  3. Complete the listing settings under Integrations → Google → Listing Settings. You will complete the default form settings here.
  4. Map the parameters in Google → Categories and Parameters → Google Parameters. With the rules created, the listing parameters will populate automatically on the listing form.
  5. Create links in Google → Associations.  Assign marketplace categories to the categories (or products) from the store.

Done! 🙂

To take full advantage of all the features of the system, follow these steps:

  1. Configure the price synchronization module in Integrations → Google → Prices.
  2. Configure the inventory synchronization module in Integrations → Google → Stock.
  3. Make sure you have correctly configured the product links in the store.

And then you can proceed 🙂

  1. Put up your first Google listings
  2. If you have put up Google listings outside the Base.com system, then you can import them according to the instructions Import auctions and products

Remember that for proper use of the system, it is necessary to properly associate offers with products in the warehouse
