Products in the BaseLinker Catalog can be linked in various ways. Each product can have variants (e.g., color, size) or be an element of a bundle.

More information can be found in our articles:

Relationships

You can find the Relationships tab on the product card (Product List → Products → Edit).

At this location, you can check all product connections and add new ones.

From this tab, it is also possible to remove manually created relations.

Types of relations

On the list, you can see the following types of relations:

  • Main product – product that is the main product for the selected product;
  • Variant – product that is a variant for the selected main product;
  • Bundle – a bundle of products that includes the selected product;
  • Part of the bundle a product that is a component of the bundle along with the selected product.

The above types of connections cannot be edited from the Relationships tab, but only by modifying variants/bundles.

There are also additional types of relations available in the system that you can set manually:

  • Related,
  • Substitution,
  • Up-sell,
  • Down-sell,
  • Cross-sell.

Adding relations

Using the green +Add relationships button below the product relations table, you can add other connections.

You can filter among all products within the Catalog that contains the product to which you want to add relations.

Pressing the +Add button next to the selected product will place it in the relations table, above the system relations.

For a product added in this way, you need to select the relation type (default is Related). Save the changes using the blue button in the bottom right corner of the card to save the connection.

If you add a relation from product X to product Y with the relation type Up-sell, then product Y will automatically get a relation to product X with the type Down-sell (and vice versa).
