AI in Base #7: every AI feature in one place

By Simon Lam

Over the past three months, we’ve shown how AI in Base supports different areas of ecommerce operations — from product content and marketplace listings to support, warehouse processes, new sales channels and connections with external AI tools.

In this final episode, we bring everything together, with links to every part of the series and a practical guide on where to start.

AI in the product catalogue: faster, more consistent product content

AI in the Products module helps generate consistent product titles and descriptions, either individually or in bulk. It can also remove image backgrounds and translate product content into other languages using DeepL.

The result: products can be prepared for sale faster, while your catalogue stays consistent whether you are updating one product record or thousands.

Autosell: your AI listing specialist

Autosell uses AI Listing Agents to analyse product data in Base, select categories and parameters, and create marketplace listings automatically.

Listings can be published straight away or saved as drafts for review and approval. This helps products move from your catalogue to marketplace listings faster, while reducing the amount of manual work required from your team.

AI Assistant in the Base panel: help when you need it

The AI Assistant is built directly into Base and uses Base’s internal knowledge to answer questions about the system.

It can help with configuration questions and explain selected integration errors, including issues involving couriers and marketplaces. In many cases, this means you can understand and resolve an issue directly in the panel before you need to raise a support ticket.

AI product counting in WMS: faster stock counting from a photo

AI product counting in the WMS App analyses a photo of your stock and estimates the number of items it can see.

Whether products are on a shelf, in a box or part of a larger batch, the warehouse operator can review the estimate, confirm it or correct it before saving the result.

This can speed up repetitive counting during deliveries, stocktakes and warehouse transfers while keeping the final decision with the person using the app.

Agentic Commerce: preparing for AI-powered shopping

Shopping through AI conversations is still an emerging sales channel, but the direction is becoming clearer.

AI tools are increasingly being used to discover products, compare options and support purchase decisions. Over time, more of the buying journey could take place directly within an AI conversation.

Base is preparing for this shift so stores using the platform can be ready as new AI commerce channels become available.

For retailers, one of the most important steps today is making sure product data is complete, structured and consistent. AI shopping relies heavily on the information it can read about your products.

Base.com MCP: connect Base with the AI tools you already use

The Base.com MCP integration is built on the Model Context Protocol standard.

It connects supported AI tools, including Claude and ChatGPT, with the AI Assistant in your Base panel. This means you can ask questions about configuration, orders, the Base API or errors from within the AI environment where you are already working.

There is no need to keep switching between windows or manually export information just to give your AI assistant more context.

Where should you start?

These features work together, so the order in which you introduce them can make a difference.

  1. Start with your product catalogue (episode 1).
Product data is the foundation for many of the other AI features. Complete, consistent data helps Autosell work more effectively and prepares your catalogue for future AI-powered sales channels.
  2. Automate marketplace listing creation (episode 2).
AI Listing Agents work best with a well-organised catalogue. Start with draft mode and a small group of products so you can review the results before scaling up.
  3. Use the AI Assistant and WMS counting in day-to-day operations (episodes 3–4).
These features can support everyday work in the Base panel and warehouse, helping teams resolve questions faster and reduce repetitive manual counting.
  4. Prepare for AI commerce and connect Base with your AI tools (episodes 5–6).
Keep your product data ready for emerging AI shopping channels, and use Base.com MCP to bring Base context into the AI tools you already use.

The result: less repetitive manual work, faster day-to-day operations and a more connected approach to multichannel ecommerce — without having to build these AI workflows from scratch.
