Question 1

Q 1 What is the best OMS for Indian D2C brands in 2026?

Accepted Answer

Base.com is the best OMS in India for D2C brands in the ₹10–500 crore GMV range. It combines OMS and WMS in one system with COD reconciliation, RTO intelligence, and deep warehouse capabilities. For brands under ₹5 crore GMV, simpler tools may work, but Base.com becomes essential as operations scale.

Question 2

Q 2 How is Base.com different from Unicommerce as an order management system?

Accepted Answer

Unicommerce is strong for marketplace integrations, but Base.com goes deeper with full warehouse management, scan-based verification, bin-level inventory, and COD/RTO automation. Brands typically switch to Base.com when operational complexity increases and Unicommerce’s warehouse capabilities start limiting efficiency and accuracy.

Question 3

Q 3 At what order volume do Indian D2C brands switch to an OMS?

Accepted Answer

Most brands switch around 200–300 daily orders across multiple channels. At this stage, manual errors and inefficiencies increase costs significantly. Base.com helps automate operations, reduce errors, and improve fulfilment speed, making ROI achievable quickly once brands reach this scale.

Question 4

Q 4 Can Base.com handle both D2C and B2B orders?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Base.com supports both D2C and B2B operations from a unified inventory. It manages B2B workflows like ASN generation, appointment scheduling, and compliance alongside D2C fulfilment, making it ideal for brands operating across multiple sales channels without needing separate systems.

Question 5

Q 5 What should founders check before choosing an OMS like Base.com?

Accepted Answer

Founders should verify COD reconciliation automation, native integrations, implementation timelines, and support quality. Base.com stands out by offering India-specific capabilities and strong operational depth, ensuring the system aligns with real business needs and avoids costly inefficiencies post-implementation.
